    For everybody wondering if they should get the triceratops/Slag toy from MS and Newage, the answer is an easy yes. What one may lack or have as not optimal, the other makes up for. The dinosaur face sculpts are different enough that you'll probably enjoy the variety. I prefer Newage for the smoother transformation, better finish/paint, less fiddling, better dinosaur articulation, fewer gaps, and more rigid materials, but prefer MS for the robot mode look and dino face sculpt. Getting both gives you more total variety and if you like problem solving, it is nice to see the differences in approaches to everything. If I could only get one, I would pick Newage, but you also cannot go wrong just getting the MS version, especially when you plop it down next to an original G1 toy version. I also like buying from each company so that they are both more likely to stay in business. I don't know if or how they compete, but both companies are doing interesting work and I'm guessing they would stop trying as hard if they weren't competing.

    Bought this to go with my Newage Dino mode. I always feel that Magic Square does a better job than Newage at making their Transformers look very toon accurate and this is no exception. I'm glad that they fixed some of their design flaws in their other two Dinobots releases as the tabs for the arms are tight now and doesn't pop out so easily. The price is $10 cheaper than the other two release so that is always welcomed. Still I have a loose leg joint, but that was the only QC issue on him. So the good is that the material used is getting and better, though still not on Newage's level. Transformation is easier, but still not that much fun. If you like the clean look of the robot and dino mode without any pins or screws and don't mind the steps to getting there, then this is for you. That is one thing Magic Square is better than Newage, making such a clean looking figure. Articulation is really good and will allow you to make a lot of dynamic poses. The bad is that despite the improvement of the material, it still feels flimsy and cheap compare to Newage. Transformation is still not as fun. The fit and finish is not as good as Newage. Even at the higher price with Newage, it is worth it when you have it in hand. Newage is superior in every ways except for the looks in robot mode. I find Newage dino mode so much better. My recommendation. While they are both very good figures, if you can only buy one, then go with the Newage. You won't regret it. If you, like me, can afford both and want one with a clean robot mode, then buy both. I'm very satisfied with this purchase bc it has met all my expectations. BTW, shipping was terribly slow. Order was made on 7/15 and I just now received it, 8/28. That is 6 weeks. Do better, Bombusbee.
