    Great deck
    Another great bot by MS, not without some flaws though Pros - great looking and accurately colored (dark blue, but not too dark) - top shelf articulation, including ability to press the eject button (using a specially designed swappable hand) - well scaled with Megs (NA one is too short to my liking) - proper scale and proportion (to my liking at least, compared to NA offering) - fun, not overengineered transformation resulting in good looking alt mode (from front and sides) Cons - comes with no tapes at all, despite having a place in the plastic box insides for 1 - inconsistent coloring of the plastic which males top of the tape deck a bit messy - back of the tape deck is a mess, top is not stellar either, then its not great on the NA as well Overall – it is my No1 Soundwave for the moment, especially as the MS tapes are for the most part superior

    I bought the Magic Square cassette tapes and thought I buy this Soundwave as well bc I like the way the robot mode looks. Comparing to Newage's Soundwave, MS's does indeed look better and more toon accurate due to his better proportions and sculpt. If you display your Soundwave in robot mode most of the time, then this is a no brainer. However, if you display both bot and alt mode, then go with Newage. Price wise, it's the same if you take into consideration the cassettes as well. The only issue with that is the MS's cassettes that you buy separately are much better than what comes with Newage's. Now, for the bad. Quality wise, paint, plastic, transformation, articulation, you name it, Newage is better. Newage feels better in hand, with some heft due to diecast. MS's is lighter and the plastic feels a little cheaper, but by no means is it bad. It's actually pretty good, just not as good as Newage's. I'm okay with all of that had the alt mode also looks better. The alt mode looks terrible, specifically the backside. If you don't care about the backside because you only display it facing forward, then this would not be a problem. For me, I wanted both bc I will display Newage's Soundwave in alt mode and MS's in bot mode. Here's my recommendation. If you can afford both, then buy both. Both are great in their own ways. However, if you can only afford 1, then go with Newage's. Both robot and alt mode are very good and they come with 3 cassettes. If you don't have a lot of money and don't care about the cassettes, then go with Magic Square's bc it's affordable and will fulfill your Soundwave needs.

    Already had the initial metallic version but picked this up as a bit of a compromise between the original release and the metallic fig. I wish it came with a tape like the other versions but other than that this guy is the perfect legends soundwave in terms of proportions and colour.
