This is my first DST and I am just blown away
So this is my first DST set and I am just blown away by the quality, the value and the new ideas this figure brings. I think about it all the time and I'm so glad i own it. What they did by making the hook into a scythe is just AWESOME. No one has done that before. I love the red windows, i love the big rubber tires and i love all of the options and creativity. At first, i was not crazy with that green color which is a little subdued for a Devy but now that i have Hook and scrapper, i think this Devy is going to be the coolest of all of the Devys and there are A LOT of them being made right now which is GREAT.

    Nice figure
These set-pieces will certainly be much preferred if more robust and more play-jointed are produced. The use of metallic gray color seems to be cooler in these combined figures. Dream star has increased his experience in superion figures. Better figures are waiting for us.

DST has definitely improved from their "Superion" line.
As someone who had the unfortunate luck of purchasing DST previous line of combiners, the "Superion" line of transformers, with all the flaws that other customers have had (broken pieces out of the box, tolerance issues, questionable material use, annoying transformation process) I was already under a lens of scrutiny coming into DST's Devestator line of combiners. Thankfully it seems DST has taken the feedback from their previous line and they started out strong with Scrapper showing improvements in stronger material use (a lot more diecast metal) a complex but never frustrating transformation, more use of ratchets and overall a genuinely fun experience; thankfully, this experience continues with Hook. Hook has a pretty simple but solid transformation mode with a lot of connection points and pegs/tabs to lock everything into place with included weapon and devestator head storage on the alt-mode. Hook also comes with two combiner modes, one where he becomes the body and another one where he becomes the right leg; both modes aren't complex transformations either. Hook also comes with two combiner modes, one where he becomes the body and another one where he becomes the right leg; both modes aren't complex transformations either. That being said there are couple of downsides. 1 - The weapons interlock with one another and I noticed that there was a lot of paint chipping off 2 - When transforming hook into his body mode, the tabs where the arms will lock have a really strong ratchet. While there are places where you can grip to move the piece into place, I would suggest using WD40 or some silicon grease in order to lubricate the ratchet. 3 - one the parts that turns into the right front half of the alt mode couldn't complete snap into place due to extra paint. Not a massive deal for alt mode but it can effect your ability to assemble the combiner body mode since there is a hole for which the chest attaches to. Other than those few minor gripes I am quite satisfied with Hook. I've transformed him, along with Scrapper, numerous times and he is overall a solid figure. I know people who have purchased DST product in the past may be apprehensive to giving them another chance but if Scrapper & Hook are testament into the quality they're bringing for this line, I am excited to see what they will do with the rest of their line.

For a company looking to redeem themselves after their entire fiasco with their Superion, DST has done so, so far. I don't own the Superion from them, but am well aware of the mess that came of it. Needless to say that as my first (and final) purchase from them, between Toyworld's Devy and this, this by far will be the best ever Devy I'll ever own by a 3P company. I mean don't get me wrong, I still love my TW Devy and all, but just by having this figure and Scrapper, this version of Devy has become my all time favorite by far. The figures looks great, feels great and and are great to have in hand. Looking forward to completing the rest of this team! Keep 'em coming, DST!!!

I think this series of dst is a work of art. the quality, solidity, posability, design and playability of these figures are the best in recent times. this hook is also a pure pleasure to play with.

Dream Star Toys DST02-002 Devastator / Hook
Similar to my other review on Scrapper, it is a very nice product. I’ve seen many reviews and videos so I was really happy that it arrived. Transformation for Hook is more complex compared to Scrapper. The instruction manual, again not very clear, You’ll have better look with YouTube. I also read that this version from Dream Star is supposed to follow the comics and has 8 robots in total vs. the typical 6. Apparently, Prowl is part of it as he was brainwashed and joined the constructicons. Hence the visor with the red wings. It explains why Hook is the right leg to Devastator. Supposedly Scrapper dies and Hook becomes the leg and Prowl becomes the chest. I’m not sure why Megatron is part of this, especially being part of Devastator. There were some quality control issues with Hook. For example, the chest piece (Megatron) does not connect well to Hook when converting to Devastator. Also, the seem does not close well in vehicle mode. I couldn’t get Megatron’s head to move further back. Otherwise, his head was looking down. I had to shave the joint a bit. But overall, I’m happy with it. I placed my deposits for the next two, Bonecrusher and Long Haul which should come on April and June. Don’t keep me waiting DST. https://tformers.com/54363?fbclid=IwY2xjawH3h3FleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHUKWRJVAho-ZyVVz37MuEruJVE24304uMAy4o0U5JiQQOOVfentYvuRkVA_aem_4NV8Y7T4vmjyB4neY36RWA
